SunTerra seldom builds spec homes because of the high standards in conservation features we cannot leave out and be competively priced against homes built to minimum standards. This spec was built to show on our annual tour of homes and was well received.
This passive solar home is about as space efficient as possible with a very open spacious feel. It, also, provides great separation of home functions without excessive halls.
Because of the slope on the lot, we were able to add a walkout lower level. You enter the home through a covered porch and are greeted by an arched, high ceiling running through the entire home. Most of the main floor areas feature 9' and 10' ceilings.
The great room includes passive solar, corner fireplace, and built-in entertainment center. The kitchen is large with raised dishwasher, large pantry, and perimeter fluorescent, indirect task lighting, plus a large utility room.
Besides the lower level there is a bonus room over the garage with its own exterior entrance for an office, caregiver’s apartment, guest room, or hobby room. This is a very energy efficient home with multi-functional design.
